mart stam   the dutch architect mart stam was an exponent of the modern movement having taught at the bauhaus.  in the 1920s he constructed a model workers community at the hellerdorf residential complex in frankfurt and produced exempla interpretation of a terrace in stuttgart at the weissenhof siedlung.  later he joined with swiss modernists karl moser and hans schmidt to form the group abc who published work of el lissitzky, galvanising the socially progressive idealisms of the modern movement, developing a typology of architecture both progressive and inspirational.  max bill was associated with many of the architects and the publication of the periodical produced by the modernists of abc.  later, along with hannes meyer former bauhaus director, at the congrès international d'architecture moderne mart stam announced his departure to russia to further the socialist movement.. mart stam
