bowers avenue this small collective of social housing sits in a dense mixed environment of gritty aged prefabricated sixties development and characterless post council housing building. conceptually there is the desire to further social progression; this has been achieved with contemporary split level maisonette flats overlooking a shared communal garden with views overlooking the adjacent valley beneath galley hill. the project which forms the basis of the ideology for subsequent model housing schemes, powerful modern minimalist design underlined by social concepts. creating a demonstration of a robust modernism with minimalist detail. space is maximised by melding exterior and interior to remove visual boundaries and create a living space from a refined interpretation of a japanese design. bowers avenue
